ٱلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ ٱللَّٰهِ | ٱلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَابْنَ رَسُولِ ٱللَّٰهِ | ٱلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَابْنَ أَمِيرِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَٱبْنَ سَيِّدِ ٱلْوَصِيِّينَ | ٱلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَابْنَ فَاطِمَةَ سَيِّدَةِ نِسَآءِ ٱلْعَالَمِينَ | ٱلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ثَارَ ٱللَّٰهِ وَٱبْنَ ثَارِهِ | وَٱلْوِتْرَ ٱلْمَوْتُورَ | ٱلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ وَعَلَى ٱلْأَرْوَاحِ ٱلَّتِي حَلَّتْ بِفِنَآئِكَ | عَلَيْكُم مِنِّي جَمِيعاً سَلَامُ ٱللَّٰهِ أَبَداً مَا بَقِيتُ وَبَقِيَ ٱللَّيْلُ وَٱلنَّهَارُ | يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ | لَقَدْ عَظُمَتِ الرَّزِيَّةُ | وَجَلَّتْ وَعَظُمَتِ الْمُصِيبَةُ بِكَ | عَلَيْنَا وَعَلَىٰ جَمِيعِ أَهْلِ الْإِسْلَامِ | وَجَلَّتْ وَعَظُمَتْ مُصِيبَتُكَ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ | عَلَىٰ جَمِيعِ أَهْلِ السَّمَاوَاتِ | فَلَعَنَ اللَّهُ أُمَّةً | أَسَّسَتْ أَسَاسَ الظُّلْمِ وَالْجَوْرِ عَلَيْكُمْ أَهْلَ الْبَيْتِ | وَلَعَنَ اللَّهُ أُمَّةً دَفَعَتْكُمْ عَنْ مَقَامِكُمْ | وَأَزَالَتْكُمْ عَنْ مَرَاتِبِكُمُ الَّتِي رَتَّبَكُمُ اللَّهُ فِيهَا | وَلَعَنَ اللَّهُ أُمَّةً قَتَلَتْكُمْ | وَلَعَنَ اللَّهُ الْمُمَهِّدِينَ لَهُمْ بِالتَّمْكِينِ مِنْ قِتَالِكُمْ | بَرِئْتُ إِلَى اللَّهِ وَإِلَيْكُمْ مِنْهُمْ | وَمِنْ أَشْيَاعِهِمْ وَأَتْبَاعِهِمْ وَأَوْلِيَائِهِمْ | يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ إِنِّي سِلْمٌ لِمَنْ سَالَمَكُمْ | وَحَرْبٌ لِمَنْ حَارَبَكُمْ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ | وَلَعَنَ اللَّهُ آلَ زِيَادٍ وَآلَ مَرْوَانَ | وَلَعَنَ اللَّهُ بَنِي أُمَيَّةَ قَاطِبَةً | وَلَعَنَ اللَّهَ ابْنَ مَرْجَانَةَ | وَلَعَنَ اللَّهُ عُمَرَ بْنَ سَعْدٍ | وَلَعَنَ اللَّهُ شِمْراً | وَلَعَنَ اللَّهُ أُمَّةً أَسْرَجَتْ وَأَلْجَمَتْ | وَتَنَقَّبَتْ لِقِتَالِكَ | بِأَبِي أَنْتَ وَأُمِّي | لَقَدْ عَظُمَ مُصَابِي بِكَ | فَأَسْأَلُ اللَّهَ الَّذِي أَكْرَمَ مَقَامَكَ وَأَكْرَمَنِي بِكَ | اَنْ يَّرْزُقَنِيْ طَلَبَ ثَارِكَ مَعَ اِمَامٍ مَنْصُوْرٍ | مِنْ اَهْلِ بَيْتِ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ اٰلِهِ | اَللّٰهُمَّ اجْعَلْنِيْ عِنْدَكَ وَجِيْهًا بِالْحُسَيْنِ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ | فِيْ الدُّنْيَا وَ الْاٰخِرَةِ | يَاۤ اَبَا عَبْدِ اللهِ اِنِّيۤ اَتَقَرَّبُ اِلَى اللهِ وَ اِلٰى رَسُوْلِهِ | وَ اِلٰىۤ اَمِيْرِ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ وَ اِلٰى فَاطِمَةَ وَاِلَى الْحَسَنِ وَ اِلَيْكَ | بِمُوَالَاتِكَ | وَ بِالْبَرَاۤئَةِ مِمَّنْ قَاتَلَكَ | وَ نَصَبَ لَكَ الْحَرْبَ | وَ بِالْبَرَاۤئَةِ مِمَّنْ اَسَّسَ اَسَاسَ | الظُّلْمِ وَالْجَوْرِ عَلَيْكُمْ | وَ اَبْرَءُ اِلَى اللهِ وَ اِلٰى رَسُوْلِهِ | مِمَّنْ اَسَّسَ اَسَاسَ ذٰلِكَ | وَ بَنٰى عَلَيْهِ بُنْيَانَهُ | وَ جَرٰى فِيْ ظُلْمِهِ وَجَوْرِهِ عَلَيْكُمْ وَ عَلٰىۤ اَشْيَاعِكُمْ | بَرِئْتُ اِلَى اللهِ وَ اِلَيْكُمْ مِنْهُمْ | وَ اَتَقَرَّبُ اِلَى اللهِ ثُمَّ اِلَيْكُمْ | بِمُوَالَاتِكُمْ وَ مُوَالَاةِ وَلِيِّكُمْ | وَ بِالْبَرَاۤئَةِ مِنْ اَعْدَاۤئِكُمْ | وَ النَّاصِبِيْنَ لَكُمُ الْحَرْبَ | وَبِالْبَرَاۤئَةِ مِنْ اَشْيَاعِهِمْ وَ اَتْبَاعِهِمْ | اِنِّيْ سِلْمٌ لِمَنْ سَالَمَكُمْ | وَ حَرْبٌ لِمَنْ حَارَبَكُمْ | وَوَلِيٌّ لِمَنْ وَالَاكُمْ | وَ عَدُوٌّ لِمَنْ عَادَاكُمْ | فَاَسْئَلُ اللهَ الَّذِىۤ اَكْرَمَنِيْ بِمَعْرِفَتِكُمْ | وَ مَعْرِفَةِ اَوْلِيَاۤئِكُمْ | وَ رَزَقَنِى الْبَرَاۤئَةَ مِنْ اَعْدَاۤئِكُمْ | اَنْ يَجْعَلَنِيْ مَعَكُمْ فِيْ الدُّنْيَا وَ الْاٰخِرَةِ | وَ اَنْ يُّثَبِّتَ لِيْ عِنْدَكُمْ قَدَمَ صِدْقٍ | فِيْ الدُّنْيَا وَ الْاٰخِرَةِ | وَ اَسْئَلُهُ اَنْ يُّبَلِّغَنِيَ الْمَقَامَ الْمَحْمُوْدَ لَكُمْ عِنْدَ اللهِ | وَ اَنْ يَّرْزُقَنِيْ طَلَبَ ثَارِيْ | مَعَ اِمَامٍ هُدًى ظَاهِرٍ | نَاطِقٍ بِالْحَقِّ مِنْكُمْ | وَ اَسْئَلُ اللهَ بِحَقِّكُمْ | وَ بِالشَّاْنِ الَّذِىْ لَكُمْ عِنْدَهٗ | اَنْ يُّعْطِيَنِيْ بِمُصَابِيْ بِكُمْ | اَفْضَلَ مَا يُعْطِيْ مُصَابًا بِمُصِيْبَتِهٖ | مُصِيْبَةً مَاۤ اَعْظَمَهَا | وَ اَعْظَمَ رَزِيَّتَهَا فِيْ الْاِسْلَامِ | وَ فِيْ جَمِيْعِ السَّمٰوَاتِ وَ الْاَرْضِ | اَللّٰهُمَّ اجْعَلْنِيْ فِىْ مَقَامِيْ هٰذَا | مِمَّنْ تَنَالُهُ مِنْكَ صَلَوَاتٌ وَ رَحْمَةٌ وَ مَغْفِرَةٌ | اَللّٰهُمَّ اجْعَلْ مَحْيَاىَ مَحْيَا مُحَمَّدٍ وَّ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ | وَ مَمَاتِيْ مَمَاتَ مُحَمَّدٍ وَّ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ | اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّ هَٰذَا يَوْمٌ تَبَرَّكَتْ بِهِ بَنُو أُمَيَّةَ | وَابْنُ آكِلَةِ الْأَكْبَادِ | اللَّعِينُ ابْنُ اللَّعِينِ عَلَىٰ لِسَانِكَ وَلِسَانِ نَبِيِّكَ | صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ، فِي كُلِّ مَوْطِنٍ وَمَوْقِفٍ وَقَفَ فِيهِ نَبِيُّكَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ | اللَّهُمَّ الْعَنْ أَبَا سُفْيَانَ وَمُعَاوِيَةَ وَيَزِيدَ بْنَ مُعَاوِيَةَ | عَلَيْهِمْ مِنْكَ اللَّعْنَةُ أَبَدَ الْآبِدِينَ | وَهَٰذَا يَوْمٌ فَرِحَتْ بِهِ آلُ زِيَادٍ وَآلُ مَرْوَانَ | بِقَتْلِهِمُ الْحُسَيْنَ صَلَوَاتُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ | اللَّهُمَّ فَضَاعِفْ عَلَيْهِمُ اللَّعْنَ مِنْكَ وَالْعَذَابَ الْأَلِيمَ | اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَتَقَرَّبُ إِلَيْكَ فِي هَٰذَا الْيَوْمِ | وَفِي مَوْقِفِي هَٰذَا | وَأَيَّامِ حَيَاتِي | بِالْبَرَاءَةِ مِنْهُمْ | وَاللَّعْنَةِ عَلَيْهِمْ | وَبِالْمُوَالَاةِ لِنَبِيِّكَ وَآلِ نَبِيِّكَ عَلَيْهِ وَعَلَيْهِمُ السَّلَامُ | اللَّهُمَّ الْعَنْ أَوَّلَ ظَالِمٍ ظَلَمَ حَقَّ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ | وَآخِرَ تَابِعٍ لَهُ عَلَى ذَٰلِكَ | اللَّهُمَّ الْعَنِ الْعِصَابَةَ الَّتِي جَاهَدَتِ الْحُسَيْنَ | وَشَايَعَتْ وَبَايَعَتْ وَتَابَعَتْ عَلَى قَتْلِهِ | اللَّهُمَّ الْعَنْهُمْ جَمِيعًا | اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ | وَعَلَى الْأَرْوَاحِ الَّتِي حَلَّتْ بِفِنَائِكَ | عَلَيْكَ مِنِّي سَلَامُ اللَّهِ أَبَدًا مَا بَقِيتُ | وَبَقِيَ اللَّيْلُ وَالنَّهَارُ | وَلَا جَعَلَهُ اللَّهُ آخِرَ الْعَهْدِ مِنِّي لِزِيَارَتِكُمْ | اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الْحُسَيْنِ | وَعَلَى عَلِيٍّ ابْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ | وَعَلَى أَوْلَادِ الْحُسَيْنِ | وَعَلَى أَصْحَابِ الْحُسَيْنِ | اللَّهُمَّ خُصَّ أَنْتَ أَوَّلَ ظَالِمٍ بِاللَّعْنِ مِنِّي | وَابْدَأْ بِهِ أَوَّلًا ثُمَّ العن الثَّانِيَ وَالثَّالِثَ وَالرَّابِعَ | اللَّهُمَّ الْعَنْ يَزِيدَ خَامِسًا | وَالْعَنْ عُبَيْدَ اللَّهِ ابْنَ زِيَادٍ وَابْنَ مَرْجَانَةَ | وَعُمَرَ ابْنَ سَعْدٍ وَشِمْرًا | وَآلَ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ وَآلَ زِيَادٍ وَآلَ مَرْوَانَ | إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ | اللَّهُمَّ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ حَمْدَ الشَّاكِرِينَ لَكَ عَلَى مُصَابِهِمْ | الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ عَلَى عَظِيمِ رَزِيَّتِي | اللَّهُمَّ ارْزُقْنِي شَفَاعَةَ الْحُسَيْنِ يَوْمَ الْوُرُودِ | وَثَبِّتْ لِي قَدَمَ صِدْقٍ عِنْدَكَ | مَعَ الْحُسَيْنِ وَأَصْحَابِ الْحُسَيْنِ | الَّذِينَ بَذَلُوا مُهَجَهُمْ دُونَ الْحُسَيْنِ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ |

Ziyarat e Ashura in English Translation

Peace be upon you, O Abā ʿAbdallāh! | Peace be upon you, O son of Allāh’s Messenger! | Peace be upon you, O son of the Commander of the Faithful and son of the Master of Successors! | Peace be upon you, O son of Fāṭima, Leader of the Women of the Worlds! | Peace be upon you, O Allāh’s avenger and the son of His avenger! | The one who has yet to be avenged, and who did not get to avenge his murdered relatives! | Peace be upon you and upon those souls who alighted in your courtyard! | Peace be upon you all from me so long as I live and so long as night and day endure! | O Abā ʿAbdallāh! | Terrible was the tragedy, | And terrible and grievous was the tribulation that befell you | for us and for all the people of Islam, | And terrible and grievous was your tribulation in the heavens | for all the inhabitants of the heavens. | So may Allāh curse the nation | who laid the foundations of your oppression and persecution, O People of the House! | And may Allāh curse the nation who drove you from your station | and brought you down from the ranks to which Allāh had assigned you! | And may Allāh curse the nation who killed you, | And may Allāh curse those who paved the way for them and made it possible to fight you! | I repudiate them to Allāh and to you, | and their supporters, their followers, and their allies. | O Abā ʿAbdallāh, I am at peace with those who keep peace with you, | And I am at war with those who make war on you until the Judgement Day, | And may Allāh curse the houses of Ziyād and Marwān, | And may Allāh curse the Umayyad clan altogether! | And may Allāh curse Ibn Marjāna, | And may Allāh curse ʿUmar ibn Saʿd, | And may Allāh curse Shimr, | And may Allāh curse the nation that saddled and bridled their horses | and took up arms to fight you. | May my father and my mother be your sacrifice! | My grief for you has become unbearable, | So I beseech Allāh, who ennobled your station and ennobled me through you, | to permit me to avenge you in the company of a divinely supported leader | from the Household of Muḥammad, may Allāh bless him and his family. | O Allāh, make me eminent in your eyes through Ḥusayn, peace be upon him, | in this world and the next! | O Abā ʿAbdallāh! I seek nearness to Allāh and to His Messenger | And to the Commander of the Faithful, and to Fāṭima, and to Ḥasan, and to you, | Through my loyalty to you | and by repudiating those who fought you | and made war on you, | And by repudiating from those who laid the foundations | of your oppression and persecution. | And I repudiate, to Allāh and His Messenger, | those who laid the foundations of that | and built their edifice upon it | and continued in their oppression and persecution of you and your supporters. | I repudiate them to Allāh and to you, | And I seek nearness to Allāh, then to you, | Through loyalty to you and loyalty to your friends, | And by dissociation from your enemies | and those who made war on you, | And by dissociation from their supporters and their followers. | I am at peace with those who keep peace with you, | And I am at war with those who make war on you, | And I am a friend to those who befriend you, | And an enemy to those who are your enemies. | So I ask Allāh, who honored me with knowledge of you | And knowledge of your friends, | And granted me dissociation from your enemies, | To make me with you in this world and the next, | And to make firm for me with you an honest stance | In this world and the next, | And I ask Him to let me reach the praiseworthy station You have with Allāh, | And to grant me to avenge my blood | with a rightly guided, manifest Imam | speaking with truth from among you. | And I ask Allāh by your right | And by the station You have with Him, | To grant me, for my grief over you, the best reward | He has granted anyone for their tribulation. | What a great calamity, | and how great its tragedy is for Islam, | And in all the heavens and the earth! | O Allāh, include me, in this station of mine, | among those who receive Your blessings, mercy, and forgiveness. | O Allāh, make my life like the life of Muḥammad and the family of Muḥammad, | And my death like the death of Muḥammad and the family of Muḥammad. | O Allāh, this is a day regarded as auspicious by the Umayyad clan, | And by the son of the Eater of Livers, | The cursed son of the one cursed by your words and the words of your Prophet | (May Allāh bless him and his family), On every occasion and in every situation Your Prophet encountered (May Allāh bless him and his family). | O Allāh, curse Abā Sufiyān, Muʿāwiya, and Yazīd the son of Muʿāwiya, | May your curse be upon them forever and ever. | On this day the houses of Ziyād and Marwān rejoiced | For their killing of Ḥusayn, may Allāh’s blessings be upon him. | O Allāh, so double your curse upon them and your punishment. | O Allāh, I do sincerely seek nearness to you on this day, | As I stand here, | And on all the days of my life, | By repudiating them, | And sending curses upon them, | And through loyalty to Your Prophet and the Household of your Prophet, (Peace be upon him and them). | O Allāh, curse the first to oppress Muḥammad and Muḥammad’s household, | And the last who followed him in that. | O Allāh, curse the band who fought against Ḥusayn, | Who came together, made a pact, and participated in his murder, | O Allāh, curse all of them. | Peace be upon you, O Abā ʿAbdallāh, | and upon those souls who alighted in your courtyard! | I ask Allāh to send peace upon you so long as I live, | And so long as night and day endure, | And let not this be my last visit to you. | Peace be upon Ḥusayn, | upon ʿAlī, the son of Ḥusayn, | upon the children of Ḥusayn, | And upon the companions of Ḥusayn. | O Allāh, single out the first oppressor for my curse, | Begin with him, then the second, the third, and the fourth. | O Allāh, curse Yazīd fifth of all, | And curse ʿUbaydallāh ibn Ziyād, Ibn Marjāna, | And ʿUmar ibn Saʿd and Shimr | And the houses of Abī Sufiyān, Ziyād, and Marwān | Until the Judgement Day. | O Allāh to You belongs the praise, The praise of those who give thanks to You for their misfortunes, | To Allāh belongs the praise for my great sorrow! | O Allāh grant me the intercession of Ḥusayn on the Day I come forth from my grave, | And make firm in your eyes my honest stance | With Ḥusayn, and the Companions of Ḥusayn | who gave their lives in defence of Ḥusayn, peace be upon him. |

Assalamu ‘alayka ya Aba Abdillah, Assalamu ‘alayka yabna Rasulillah, Assalamu ‘alayka yabna Ameeril Mu’mineen, wabna Sayyidil Wasiyyeen, Assalamu ‘alayka yabna Fatimata Sayyidati Nisa’il ‘Alameen.Assalamu ‘alayka ya Tharallah wabna Tharihi wal witr al-mawtoor, Assalamu ‘alayka wa ‘ala al-arwahillati hallat bifina’ika.‘Alaykum minni jami’an salamu Allahi abadan ma baqitu wa baqiya al-laylu wan-nahar.Ya Aba Abdillah, laqad ‘azumatir raziyyah, wa jallat wa ‘azumatil musibatu bika ‘alayna wa ‘ala jami’i ahlil Islam.Fa la’anallahu ummatan assasat asasaz zulmi wal jawri ‘alaykum Ahlal Bayt.Wa la’anallahu ummatan dafa’atkum ‘an maqamikum wa azalatkum ‘an maratibikum.Wa la’anallahu ummatan qatalatkum, wa la’anallahu al-mumahhidina lahum bit-tamkeeni min qitalikum.Bari’tu ilallahi wa ilaykum minhum wa min ashya’ihim wa atba’ihim wa awliya’ihim.Ya Aba Abdillah, inni silmun liman salamakum wa harbun liman harabakum ila yawmil qiyamah.
