14. — Closing Salutation

📖 Ziyarat e Ashura — Complete English Translation

Peace be upon you, O Aba Abdillah.
Peace be upon you, O son of the Messenger of Allah.
Peace be upon you, O son of the Commander of the Faithful and son of the chief of the successors.
Peace be upon you, O son of Fatima, the leader of the women of the worlds.

Peace be upon you, O the blood of Allah and son of His blood, and the unavenged one.
Peace be upon you and upon the souls that gathered in your courtyard.
Upon all of you be the peace of Allah from me forever, as long as I remain and as long as night and day endure.

O Aba Abdillah, indeed the calamity is great.
The tragedy with you is immense and overwhelming. It is a calamity that is great and painful for all the people of the heavens and all the people of the earth.

O Aba Abdillah, I bear witness that you established the prayer, gave the zakat, enjoined what is right, forbade what is wrong, and struggled in the way of Allah with true striving, until certainty came to you.

May Allah curse those who established the foundation of oppression and injustice against you, O Ahlul Bayt.
May Allah curse those who pushed you away from your rightful position and removed you from your status which Allah had granted you.

O Allah, curse the first oppressor who wronged the rights of Muhammad ﷺ and the family of Muhammad.
And curse those who followed him in oppressing the family of the Prophet ﷺ. O Allah, curse all of them.

I bear witness that you were the light in the noble loins and the pure wombs.
The impurities of ignorance did not touch you, nor did its dirt ever stain you.

I bear witness that you are the pillar of the religion and the support of the believers.
You are the fortress of Islam and the refuge of those who seek protection.

Indeed I am at peace with those who are at peace with you.
And I am at war with those who are at war with you, until the Day of Resurrection.
May Allah curse the family of Ziyad and the family of Marwan.
May Allah curse Banu Umayya altogether.
May Allah curse the son of Marjana, and Umar ibn Sa’d, and Shimr.

O Allah, make me honored in Your presence through Husain, in this world and in the Hereafter.
Make me one of those who are victorious through him.
O Allah, place me among those who weep for Husain and mourn for him.

O Allah, I ask You by the right of Husain and his companions.
Grant me in this world and the Hereafter the intercession of Husain.
Make me steadfast with a truthful and honorable stance, both in this world and in the Hereafter.

O Aba Abdillah, I draw close to Allah, to His Messenger ﷺ, to Amir al-Muminin, to Fatima al-Zahra, to Hasan, and to you.
I draw close to Allah through loving you and through disassociating from your enemies, from those who laid the foundations of oppression against you, from those who drove away the family of the Prophet ﷺ from their rights.

O Allah, make me live as Muhammad ﷺ and the family of Muhammad ﷺ lived.
And make me die as Muhammad ﷺ and the family of Muhammad ﷺ died.

O Allah, this is the day that the Banu Umayya rejoiced.
It is a day that the son of Marjana and Ibn Ziyad and Shimr were happy. This day is a day of grief and sorrow for the family of the Prophet ﷺ, for the close ones of Muhammad ﷺ, and for all the believers.

O Allah, in this moment and in every moment, be my Guardian and Protector.
Be the Guardian and Protector of Husain ibn Ali, the oppressed and the martyr.

Peace be upon you, O Aba Abdillah, and upon the souls that gathered in your courtyard.
Upon you be the peace of Allah forever, as long as night and day endure.
May Allah not make this the last time I remember you.
Peace be upon Husain, and upon Ali ibn Husain, and upon the companions of Husain.
